North Carolina Action Needed: Pro-Gun Omnibus Bill May be Considered in Senate Rules Soon!

House Bill 746, the omnibus bill that would make many pro-gun reforms to North Carolina’s gun laws, could be considered in the Senate Rules Committee at any time!  It is imperative that you contact members of the Senate Rules Committee TODAY and urge them to support HB 746!  Also, click here to find a list of the committee members to call with your support!  Please click the “Take Action” button below to contact the Senate Rules Committee members.

HB 746, introduced by state Representative Chris Millis (R-16), would establish that carrying a concealed firearm without a permit is legal in North Carolina, just as carrying openly without a permit has always been.  Additionally, HB 746 would make the current CHP system optional to allow citizens to obtain a CHP and take advantage of reciprocity agreements with other states.  Further, it would eliminate the requirement that applicants for a Pistol Purchase Permit sign a notarized waiver to allow sheriffs to access the mental health records of the applicant.
