Today, the Wyoming House Committee of the Whole approved House Bill 136 and House Bill 137 by a voice vote on first reading. Both bills will receive second reading tomorrow with a final recorded vote to likely occur as early as Wednesday, February 1. Please continue to contact your state Representative and state Senator and politely urge them to support House Bill 136 and House Bill 137 and to oppose any weakening amendments.
House Bill 136 would amend the existing statute to allow a person lawfully carrying with a Wyoming state permit to carry a concealed weapon on any public college or university campus or within any public college or university facility, without having to have the written consent of the security service of the public college or university.
House Bill 137 would allow an individual to lawfully carry a concealed weapon in any meeting of a government entity.
