Please note the change in bill number!
The Louisiana House of Representatives will consider NRA-supported House Bill 1155 by State Represetative Valarie Hodges (R-Denham Springs) on Wednesday, May 11. HB 1155 is the substitute bill for House Bill 176, which NRA-ILA reported to you was voted out of the House Administration of Criminal Justice committee last week. HB 1155 establishes an expedited process for victims of domestic violence, who have obtained permanent protective orders against their abusers, to obtain temporary concealed carry permits from the Louisiana State Police. Please contact your State Representative before Wednesday afternoon and urge them to support HB 1155!
Key committee agenda updated!
House Bill 101 by State Representative Barbara Norton (D-Shreveport) has NOT been placed on this week's Criminal Justice committee agenda. Involuntarily deferred last week, HB 101 created the offense of operating a motion picture theater without a metal detector or other electronic screening process for detecting (and ostensibly prohibiting) firearms carried by patrons. Your NRA-ILA will notify you if the committee schedules any further action on this bill.
