Tomorrow morning, House File 2283 is scheduled for consideration in both the Senate Natural Resources and Environment Subcommittee, consisting of Senators Dearden, Rozenboom and Brase, as well as the full Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee later in the day. HF 2283 would allow for law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm while riding in an ATV or snowmobile.
As previously reported, by legislative rule, the Senate must move all House proposals out of committee by March 11. Those bills that fail to pass are not eligible for floor action. Please contact the members of the Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee and politely urge them to support HF 2283! If an individual can lawfully own and possess a firearm, they should not have restrictions placed on their ability to exercise their fundamental right to self-defense outside of their home or in a recreational vehicle.
