Please continue to urge your state Senator to support LD 652!
The state Senate has postponed the vote on the constitutional/permitless carry bill, Legislative Document 652, until tomorrow, May 28.
As previously reported, this NRA-backed “Constitutional/Permitless Carry” legislation, sponsored by Senator Eric Brakey (R-Androscoggin), would recognize the right of all residents of Maine who are not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a firearm to carry concealed without obtaining a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP). LD 652 would also leave the current carry permitting system intact for those who wish to participate in reciprocal concealed carry permit agreements when traveling to other states.
We need your support now more than ever to help pass this critical piece of legislation. Please contact your state Senator TODAY and ask him or her to vote YES on LD 652 when it comes up for a vote tomorrow with our online form or by calling.
Also, please continue to contact your state Representative and urge him or her to do the same. To find out who represents you, click here.
Please also sign this pledge TODAY to show your support for “Constitutional/Permitless Carry” and urge your family, friends and fellow Maine activists to do the same.
