Today, Senate Joint Resolution 2 was passed by the Indiana House Judiciary Committee. Please contact your state Representative and politely urge him or her to vote in support of SJR 2 when it comes before them on the House floor.
SJR 2, which would guarantee Hoosiers the right to hunt, fish and harvest wildlife and ensure the preservation of Indiana's rich hunting heritage, was also passed in the Senate on a 42 to 7 vote. This proposed constitutional amendment would ensure that sportsmen will continue to be used as the state’s responsible game managers. Sponsored by state Senator Brent Steele (R-44) and Representative Sean Eberhart (R-57), SJR 2 (formerly SJR9) was passed by both legislative chambers in 2014 and is required to be passed again to qualify for the 2016 General Election ballot.
