House Bill 2654, introduced by state Representative Darin Mitchell (R-13), passed in the Arizona House of Representatives by an overwhelming 52 to 4 vote on March 4. HB 2654 has been sent to the state Senate and assigned to its Natural Resources and Rural Affairs Committee for further consideration.
HB 2654 would help maintain Arizona’s rich hunting heritage by allowing non-residents who are full-time students at a state or private post-secondary educational institution to purchase hunting licenses at the resident rate. As the number of hunters has been in steady decline nationwide, there has been no better time to recruit new hunters to share in the Grand Canyon State’s outstanding hunting traditions.
Thank you to the state Representatives who voted for this pro-hunting reform and to NRA members who contacted their state legislators in support of House Bill 2654. Please contact your state Senator and urge him or her to vote for HB 2654 using the contact information provided here.
