A pair of robbers, one of whom was armed with a gun and pretending to be disabled in a wheelchair, entered Tick Tock Jewelry in Westminster, Calif. and ordered the employees and customers to the ground. While in a back room, the store owner heard the commotion, retrieved a gun and went to confront the criminals. The store owner ordered the gun-toting criminal to drop his weapon several times, but when the robber refused, the store owner shot the criminal in the face, ending the robbery.
Police have praised the actions of the store owner, with Sgt. Cameron Knauerhaze noting, “I would call what he did a very brave and heroic deed… He put himself in a position of danger to save his employees and customers. I think he did an outstanding job.” (KNBC, Los Angeles, Calif. 07/30/12, The Contra Costa Times, Contra Costa, Calif. 07/31/12)
