This Thursday, March 24, the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Livestock, and Natural Resources will hold a public hearing and take a vote on a bill that significantly impacts Colorado hunters. House Bill 1266 would require all hunters to purchase a Colorado Wildlife Habitat Stamp in addition to their regular hunting or fishing license before entering state wildlife areas.
Hunters already pay for access to these public lands through license fees and special taxes, so this additional fee places an unnecessary financial burden on those residents who already pay their fair share into the system.
Please contact the members of the Senate Agriculture, Livestock, and Natural Resources Committee and ask them to vote AGAINST this habitat stamp and FOR any amendments that benefit Colorado hunters. Committee members` contact numbers are listed below. Please also encourage your friends, family, and fellow hunters to call. Make sure your voice is heard on this important hunting issue!
