If youngsters pick up baseball on the sandlots, football at the park, basketball on the neighborhood court, or through organized club and school programs, they absorb the outdoors in a more personal way. The outdoors is a passion passed on like a family heirloom. The theory is to teach kids about the joys of fishing, the challenges of hunting, the pleasures of camping, when they are young, and hope the interest lasts a lifetime.
