NRA-ILA GRASSROOTS VOLUME 25, NUMBER 8
|
| | Rather than address our broken mental health system, our inability to provide proper school security, or numerous failings by law enforcement and others to identify a clearly dangerous individual, all solutions that NRA supports, gun control activists want to blame the NRA, its members, and America’s 120 million law-abiding gun owners. Make no mistake, the NRA will not let the media elites get away with blaming its members and the gun-owning public for the acts of a single deranged person or the culture of inaction that allowed him to operate unchecked.
The NRA is resolved to stand up to whatever forces seek to erode our freedom. Stand with us. Together, we are freedom’s last, best chance. |
| | Have you heard the latest breaking news? “A study pokes holes in the idea that experienced firearm users are less likely to injure themselves.” “To see gun injury drop, hold an NRA Meeting.” “Gun injuries fall during NRA conventions.” |
| | The number of Form 4 applications received by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) in 2016 and 2017 seems to indicate a clear peak followed by a marked drop-off. |
| | An article for Smithsonian magazine (Matt Jancer, Gun Control Is as Old as the Old West), reviews the ordinances of Tombstone, Arizona, and other frontier towns in the 1880s, observing that the gun control laws of the time were imposed at the local level, and that bearing arms was a “heavily regulated business.” |
