There were a number of anti-gun bills introduced during the opening week of the legislative session. We will be watching these bills closely. Below are a few lowlights of the introduced bills:
HB 54: Requires proof of a mental health examination to prove mental health before a person may be approved for a license to carry a concealed firearm; and for related purposes.
HB 80: Permits a government agency to remove firearm rights from a person voluntarily receiving mental health treatment.
HB 99: Prohibits the sale or giving of certain semi-automatic firearms to any person under the age of twenty-one.
HB 100: Requires a mental health evaluation before the issuance of a firearms license.
We will continue to work to effectively defeat these anti-2A measures. Continue to check your inbox and www.nraila.org for updates concerning your Second Amendment rights and the hunting heritage in Mississippi.
