On July 8th, the North Carolina General Assembly adjourned for the summer. They are scheduled to return in September.
Though the COVID-19 crisis has caused disruption to the session, both chambers passed the Second Amendment Preservation Act by bipartisan, pro-gun supermajorities. Governor Roy Cooper then vetoed this important self-defense and private property rights measure, making clear why November’s gubernatorial election will be critical to Second Amendment rights.
