Two pro-gun bills have been introduced in the Colorado House and referred to the State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee for consideration. The below bills have been scheduled for a hearing on Thursday, January 23 at 1:30pm in the Supreme Court Room. Please contact committee members and ask them to SUPPORT House Bill 1040 and House Bill 1099.
House Bill 1040 would remove the state ban on carrying with a concealed carry permit in public schools. Unless the school complies with public building security requirements, including having security personnel, metal detectors, and electronic screening for those entering, individuals with a concealed carry permit would be allowed to carry a firearm on public school property.
House Bill 1099 seeks to repeal the misguided 2013 law that limited the amount of ammunition a firearm magazine can hold. By removing this restriction, law-abiding Coloradans will no longer be limited in their ability to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Again, please contact members of the House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee and politely ask them to SUPPORT House Bill 1040 and House Bill 1099.
