On Thursday, the Vermont Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider multiple firearm-related bills at 10:30am in Room 10. Please contact committee members about the below described bills:
Multiple pro-gun bills to be considered are sponsored by Senator John Rodgers and aim to correct problems with the firearm magazine ban bill. Those measures are S.1, S.2, S.3, and S.13.
Also being considered is S.22, legislation sponsored by Senator Phil Baruth, which intends to create a 48-hour waiting period before an individual is able to take possession of a firearm after legally purchasing it from a dealer and having a background check completed. This legislation would impose an unnecessary and arbitrary amount of time that an individual must wait before being able to express their Second Amendment rights, and undergoing all necessary legal requirements to do so.
Please contact members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and strongly urge them to SUPPORT S.1, S.2, S.3, and S.13, as well as OPPOSE S.22.
