Fairfax, Va.— National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund Chairman Chris W. Cox issued the following statement congratulating Mike DeWine and Jon Husted for their hard-fought victory. The men and women of the National Rifle Association played a critical role in this effort.
"On behalf of our nearly six million members, the National Rifle Association congratulates Mike DeWine and Jon Husted on their election as the next governor and lieutenant governor of Ohio. DeWine and Husted are staunch supporters of the Second Amendment, and they will work hard to protect our constitutional freedoms. Once again, NRA members and Second Amendment supporters made a difference by showing up to the polls and voting. Today, Ohio voters rejected the extreme gun control agenda backed by Michael Bloomberg and sent a clear message in support of our Second Amendment right to self-defense."
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
