Fairfax, Va.— On behalf of our nearly six million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today endorsed Karin Housley for U.S. Senate in Minnesota.
“Karin Housley is a steadfast supporter of our Second Amendment freedoms,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA-PVF chairman. “Minnesotans can trust Karin Housley to fight for their constitutional rights in the U.S. Senate.”
Housley opposes legislation that would ban commonly owned rifles and criminalize the private transfer of firearms between lifelong friends and many family members. She will vote to confirm pro-Second Amendment justices to the Supreme Court and oppose anti-gun judicial nominees. In addition, Housley supports national concealed carry reciprocity, which will ensure that law-abiding gun owners can carry concealed across state lines.
Housley is challenging Sen. Tina Smith, an “F” rated candidate who recently voted against the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Smith, who also supports the Schumer/Pelosi/Bloomberg gun control agenda, is a co-sponsor of legislation that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms between lifelong friends and many family members. She also opposes national concealed carry reciprocity and supports a ban on commonly owned rifles and ammunition.
“Karin Housley is the only candidate in this race who will defend our Second Amendment freedoms,” concluded Cox. “The NRA encourages all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen in Minnesota to vote Karin Housley for U.S. Senate in November."
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
