Fairfax, Va.— On behalf of our nearly six million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today endorsed Scott Tipton for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado.
“Scott Tipton is a champion of our Second Amendment freedoms,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA-PVF chairman. “As a life-long Coloradan, Scott Tipton has a deep respect for hunting, recreational shooting and our right to keep and bear arms.”
Tipton has strongly opposed the Pelosi/Schumer/Bloomberg gun control agenda, including legislation that would criminalize the private transfer of a firearm between life-long friends and many family members. He voted for the strongest Concealed Carry Reciprocity legislation ever to come before the U.S. Congress, which would ensure that the nearly 20 million law-abiding Americans who can carry a concealed firearm in their home state are able to legally carry concealed across state lines.
Tipton also voted to strengthen school security, reform our broken mental health system, and make sure the background check system is instant, accurate, and fair. In addition, he voted to strike down Obama-era regulations that federalized wildlife management and stripped Social Security recipients of their Second Amendment rights without due process.
Tipton is being challenged by Diane Mitsch Bush, an “F” rated candidate who supports the Bloomberg/Pelosi/Schumer gun control agenda. While in the Colorado legislature, she voted to ban commonly owned magazines and criminalize private firearm transfers between friends and family members. She also supports banning commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and is backed by the Bloomberg gun control lobby. Her support for radical gun control has earned her a 100% rating by Ceasefire Colorado.
“A vote for Diane Mitsch Bush is a vote to put Nancy Pelosi in control of the US House of Representatives," continued Cox. “Scott Tipton is the only candidate in this race who will defend our Second Amendment rights. The NRA encourages all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen to vote Scott Tipton for Congress in November.”
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
