School Safety & Gun Control Resolution Not Scheduled for Action; NRA-ILA Will Keep You Posted on Further Developments
Dear Dona Ana County NRA Member:
Last week, the Las Cruces City Council and Public School Board held a joint work session to discuss school safety and the already-tabled Resolution No. 18-116 by Councilor Greg Smith (District 2).
As we've reported earlier, Resolution No. 18-116 called on the New Mexico Legislature to enact future restrictions on the sale and possession of semi-automatic firearms. This article provides a rundown of what took place at the joint work session. As of now, nothing on school safety or Resolution 18-116 is on the City Council's work session agenda for Monday, May 14, but we are told that the anti-gun resolution may be rewritten and considered at a future Council meeting.
Once again, thank you to all NRA members and concerned gun owners who showed up to last Wednesday's joint work session; NRA-ILA will keep you posted on further developments.
