Tomorrow, anti-gun state Senator Ron Latz is expected to introduce two gun control amendments to the Senate Judiciary Omnibus finance bill on the Senate floor. Please contact your Senator immediately and strongly urge them to OPPOSE A34 and A36 on the Senate Floor.
Amendment 34 would create so-called “universal” background checks for most private transfers of a “pistol or semi-automatic military assault weapon” with limited exceptions.
Amendment 36 would create “Extreme Risk Protection Orders” that would allow for a chief law enforcement officer or designee to petition the court for an ex parte order to remove an individual’s Second Amendment rights with little to no due process.
Again, please contact your Senator immediately and strongly urge them to OPPOSE A34 and A36 on the Senate Floor.

Also tomorrow, the House Ways and Means Committee is scheduled to consider a pro-gun amendment to House File 3502. This amendment would require the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to provide a link to the Secretary of State’s voter registration website to those who are purchasing a license online. Under this pro-gun amendment, any person who purchases a hunting, fishing or trapping license on the DNR website will be provided a link to the voter registration application.
Please contact members of the House Ways and Means Committee and strongly urge them to SUPPORT this pro-gun amendment. Also, please contact your state Senator and strongly urge them to OPPOSE A34 and A36 on the Senate Floor.
