On November 8, the Moraga Town Council held a public meeting to discuss a proposed mandatory locked-storage ordinance. As a result of your activism and a joint-opposition letter submitted on behalf of NRA and CRPA highlighting the flaws of the ordinance, the Town Manager requested the Council pull the ordinance. The Council ultimately agreed, but is expected to reconsider the proposal early next year.
If enacted, the proposed ordinance would require any person who keeps a handgun in their residence to store the handgun in a locked container or disabled with a DOJ approved gun lock unless carried on their person or in the person’s immediate control.
