Springfield police are investigating after a man who lives in the 1800 block of East Keys Avenue said he shot an intruder Wednesday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to East Keys Avenue at 12:44 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, the man said he shot someone after he forced his way into his home.
The intruder was dropped off at Memorial Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound and is currently in stable condition, police said.
No arrests have been made, and police continue to investigate.
