Today, Senate Bill 1122 was sent to the Governor for his consideration after passing the House yesterday by a vote of 32-23. Please contact Governor Ducey and urge him to sign Senate Bill 1122 into law.
Sponsored by state Senator Gail Griffin (R-14), this important legislation would prevent the state of Arizona, a county, city or town government from requiring a person to access or facilitate access to any state, federal or third party database as a condition of selling, gifting, donating or transferring personal property. This would include so-called “universal background checks” on the private transfer of firearms.
Recently, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed the following pro-gun bills:
Senate Bill 1344, sponsored by state Senator John Kavanagh (R-23), will clarify that state and local governments cannot regulate firearm possession of independent contractors on the property or vehicles owned by the contractor
House Bill 2216, sponsored by state Representative Paul Boyer (R-20), will make it unlawful to mandate firearm tracking technology or to disclose identifiable information on a firearm or firearm owner for the purpose of using electronic firearm tracking technology.
