Today, March 20, the Ventura City Council is scheduled to consider an ordinance that increases the storage and security requirements placed on firearm and ammunition dealers. This proposal is similar to SB 464, that will be heard tomorrow in the Senate Public Safety Committee. California already has some of the strictest laws in the country regarding how dealers must store and secure firearms. This is just a “feel-good” ordinance that will only place more costs and mandates on law-abiding business owners.
This meeting is expected to begin at 6:00 pm at the Council Chambers located at 501 Poli Street. If you are unable to attend, please use the TAKE ACTION button below to contact the members of the city council and urge them to OPPOSE this ordinance.
