Next week, the House Federal and State Affairs Committee is scheduled to hear legislation that seeks to repeal important self-defense laws, House Bill 2074 and House Bill 2150. NRA members and Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to attend the hearings in opposition of HB 2074 and HB 2150.
The hearing will be taking place on Wednesday, February 1, and Thursday, February 2, at 9:00am in room 346-S of the Kansas Statehouse.
House Bill 2074, and its companion bill Senate Bill 53, seek to repeal current Kansas law that would allow law-abiding individuals to carry a concealed firearm on college campuses for self-defense if the public university chooses not to provide adequate security.
House Bill 2150 would make it unlawful for individuals to carry a firearm for self-defense into the Kansas University Hospital. This bill is a solution in search of a problem, and it places an arbitrary boundary on your right to self-defense.
If you are able to attend, please RSVP above to show your opposition to these anti-self-defense bills. Please also contact your legislators and urge them to OPPOSE House Bill 2074 and House Bill 2150 when they come up for a vote.
