With the holidays comes a surge in retail buying, including the purchase of firearms.
December is one of the biggest months local sheriff’s offices see applications for pistol purchase and concealed-carry permits. Nearly 20 percent of Brunswick County’s 2,364 pistol permit applications during 2015 were submitted in December alone, according to statistics from the county's sheriff's office.
