SB 1330, sponsored by state Senator Rich Alloway (R-33), would strengthen Pennsylvania’s firearm preemption law to further ensure firearm and ammunition laws are uniform throughout the state. Earlier this year, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down ACT 192 – Firearm Preemption Legislation - for violation of the “single subject” rule for legislative process. SB 1330, if again enacted into law, would strengthen Pennsylvania’s firearms preemption law to further ensure firearm and ammunition laws are consistent throughout the state.
Gun owners continue to be unduly burdened by local ordinances which violate the current state firearm preemption law. Citizens with no criminal intent should not be placed in jeopardy of running afoul of local restrictions they don't even know exist simply because they have crossed from one municipality to another.
Once again, please click the “TAKE ACTION” button to e-mail your state Senator today and ask them to support Senator John Eichelberger’s amendment to SB 1330 and final passage of the bill.
