Today, the Minnesota House will be considering Senate File 3589, sponsored by Representative Dennis Smith (R-34B). During its consideration, Rep. Smith is expected to propose amending language, “S3589A4 and S3589A5,” to his bill with the intent of protecting gun owner’s information from being collected by the government. Please contact your state Representative and politely urge them to support these amendment when they come up for a vote.
Both amendments would help to prevent data pertaining to the purchase or transfer of firearms, as well as applications for permits to carry firearms, from being collected by the government. The House is expected to reconvene on the floor at 1:00pm and your state Representative needs to hear from you!
