Alaska State Troopers attempted to pull over a man in Wasilla, Alaska, but were led on a high-speed chase. Eventually, the offending driver abandoned his vehicle and continued to flee on foot. While on foot, the driver confronted a homeowner who was aware that the police were searching for him and ordered him to stop. An altercation ensued, during which the homeowner drew a firearm and shot the man in the leg. The man was captured by state troopers a short shortly after the shooting.
The driver faces a litany of charges including felony eluding and assault. Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters told a media outlet that “No charges are filed against the homeowner at this time.” (Alaska Dispatch News, Anchorage, Alaska 3/31/16)
