On Friday, April 1, Washington Governor Jay Inslee signed Senate Bill 6165 into law. Companion bill to House Bill 2481, SB 6165 clarifies the current, inadequately-written exemption in Washington law that is intended to allow individuals who are licensed under federal law to manufacture, own, buy, sell, furnish or be in possession of short-barreled rifles (SBR). Federal Form 1 processing will now be more easily accessible by Washingtonians seeking to build, buy or own an SBR.
Thank you to NRA members and Second Amendment supporters who contacted their lawmakers in support of SB 6165 /HB 2481.
