The month of March ended with two pro-gun bills being signed into law by Governor Gary Herbert.
House Bill 67, sponsored by state Representative Norman K. Thurston (R-64), will eliminate the prohibition on carrying a firearm on a bus, allowing those who use public transportation to carry a firearm for self-defense.
House Bill 298, sponsored by state Representative Justin L. Fawson (R-7), will enact the Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, limiting the liability of manufacturers and sellers of firearms and ammunition. This legislation helps protect manufacturers and sellers of firearms and ammunition from baseless lawsuits where a third party used their product unlawfully.
