Today, Senate Bill 19 was defeated in the Delaware Senate by a 6-15 vote. Current law allows Delaware Law Enforcement to sell or auction off seized firearms instead of mandating that they be destroyed. SB 19, sponsored by state Senator Robert Marshall (D-3), sought to remove that choice, providing that only firearms with “historical significance” be donated.
Thank you to NRA members and Second Amendment supporters who contacted their state lawmakers in opposition to this anti-gun legislation. Also, thank you to those Senators who opposed and helped to defeat Senate Bill 19.
