Today, March 3, Governor Tomblin vetoed House Bill 4145, permitless carry legislation that was recently passed by the West Virginia Legislature. HB 4145 passed the House of Delegates with a bipartisan 68-31 vote, and the Senate with a bipartisan 24-9 vote. Please contact your state legislators immediately and respectfully urge them to vote to override Governor Tomblin’s veto. Click the “Take Action” button below to contact your state legislators!
In order to override the Governor’s veto, both chambers of the West Virginia Legislature need a simple majority vote in favor.
As previously reported, HB 4145 is important legislation that would recognize a law-abiding adult's fundamental right to carry a concealed weapon for self-defense without government-mandated taxes and permitting.
