Yesterday, a substitute for Senate Bill 65 was passed in the Senate during a lengthy floor debate. During consideration, state Senator Jeff Longbine offered an amendment that would continue to prohibit the lawful concealed carry of a firearm on college campuses. Law-abiding Kansans who attend an institution of higher education deserve the same right to self-defense they are afforded off-campus. This amendment was defeated by an 11-26 vote.
If your Senator opposed this anti-gun amendment, please call him or her and thank them for protecting the right to self-defense of law-abiding carry permittees in The Sunflower State. Contact information for your state Senator can be found here.
