Tomorrow, February 2, the Alabama Legislature will convene for the 2016 regular legislative session. The 2016 legislative session is poised to include numerous legislative initiatives that will significantly impact law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen in Alabama. It’s vital that gun owners and sportsmen across the Yellowhammer State stay actively involved throughout 2016.
The state legislature is once again set to consider Senate Bill 14, important legislation that would recognize a law-abiding gun owner’s ability to possess a concealed firearm in a vehicle without first obtaining a government-issued permit. SB 14 passed out of the state Senate last year before it stalled in the state House of Representatives during the final hours of the 2015 regular legislative session. The primary opponents to the passage of SB 14 are a handful of Alabama sheriffs. It is imperative that you contact your Sheriff and respectfully urge him or her to support Senate Bill 14.
Your NRA will continue to defend your rights from anti-gun attacks and advance reforms that promote and protect your Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage.
