Today, the New Hampshire House of Representatives passed House Bill 500 with a 184-124 vote.
As previously reported, HB 500, sponsored by Representative John Burt (R), would repeal the current ban on the use of legal firearm sound suppressors while hunting. Sound suppressors attached to firearms are an additional tool available to help protect the shooter’s hearing, reduce noise complaints by surrounding residents, as well as increase accuracy and safety. If passed, New Hampshire would be the 38th state to allow the use of suppressors while hunting.
HB 500 will now go to the New Hampshire Senate for further consideration. Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates on this bill as it progresses through the General Court of New Hampshire.
