Mississippi will celebrate its second annual “Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday” this Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6. NRA members are encouraged to visit their firearms and outdoor retailers this weekend and enjoy savings as hunting seasons begin.
Thanks to the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves (R), state Senators Philip Moran (R-Kiln) and Giles Ward (R-Louisville), and state Representative Jeff Smith (R-Columbus), NRA-supported Senate Bill 2425 passed during the 2014 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature and was signed into law by Governor Phil Bryant (R). This bill created an annual state sales tax-free weekend for the individual purchase of firearms, ammunition, archery equipment and hunting supplies.
