Last Wednesday, April 15, Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) signed NRA-supported Senate Bill 848 into law. Sponsored by pro-gun Senator Bill Stanley (R-20), SB 848 establishes a marksmanship award to recognize the top 20 competitors in each of the rifle and pistol Excellence-in-Competition matches conducted annually at the Virginia State Championships.
Senate Bill 848 will go into effect on July 1, 2015. Thank you to everyone who contacted your elected officials in support of this measure.
