Yesterday, the Senate Education Committee completely gutted pro-gun House Bill 114, legislation that would have eliminated specific “gun free zones” in Wyoming, and replaced it with an unrecognizable, anti-gun substitute bill. The NRA now stands opposed to HB 114, and it is critical that you contact your state Senator and urge him or her to vote against this bill.
It’s incredibly unfortunate that members of the Senate Education Committee are playing games with your fundamental right to self-defense. They managed to turn a simple three page bill that would have respected the right of law-abiding concealed carry permit holders to lawfully carry in any meeting of a government entity, any public K-12 school and on the campus of any public college or university, into fourteen pages of complexities that require law-abiding gun owners to obtain explicit permission from school, college or government authorities in order to exercise their fundamental rights, among other things.
It is critical that you immediately contact your state Senator and urge him or her to vote against HB 114. Make sure they are aware that HB 114 has been grossly amended and no longer reflects the original intent of the bill sponsors.
