The Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, your NRA state association, will be holding their annual legislative mixer on Tuesday, January 27th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The group will meet in the Capitol’s cafeteria area. It’s more important than ever that all gun owners show up to the Capitol next Tuesday. Our constitutional rights are under attack this year and your attendance will help send a message to legislators. Traditionally, this mixer has been held in the evening, but this year, the start time has been moved to the afternoon to demonstrate to legislators who are in the building that Vermont gun owners are unified and opposed to the radical agenda being loudly pushed by Gun Sense Vermont and their out-of-state benefactors.
This will be an opportunity to meet and discuss issues with legislators and other Second Amendment leaders in Vermont. Please wear orange in order to make yourself easily identifiable to legislators and show them that gun owners are a strong and unified voice in Vermont.
As previously reported, Senate Bill 31 was introduced just this week. We are asking that you politely make the point that Vermont is one of the safest states in the country, and new gun laws are unnecessary. S.31 seeks to impose restrictions on the private transfer of firearms and will do nothing to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. However, it will create undue burdens for law-abiding Vermonters.
Please plan to attend the legislative mixer next Tuesday and help stand up to this radical anti-gun agenda. Enough is enough. Legislators should focus on real problems in the state.
