On Monday, January 20, 2015, House Bill 4005 PASSED the House Criminal Justice Committee by a vote of 8 to 4. This was the first hearing for this bill.
HB-4005 Firearms on College Campus by Representative Greg Steube (R-Sarasota) repeals the provision of law that prohibits persons with concealed carry licensees from carrying firearms onto college or university campuses.
Under this bill, adults 21 years of age or older who have a valid Florida Concealed Weapons or Firearm License will have their right to carry concealed firearms on college or university campuses restored.
