On Tuesday, July 15, 2014, the U.S. House Appropriations Committee approved the FY15 Interior Appropriations bill. This bill contains a number of pro-gun general provisions and will now head to the U.S. House floor for consideration.
The FY15 Interior Appropriations bill includes the following pro-gun provisions:
- Section 115 – Protecting Lawful Ivory: A prohibition of funds for the Fish and Wildlife Service to change current ivory regulations.
- Section 426 – Protecting Traditional Ammunition & Fishing Tackle - A prohibition of funds for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate the lead content of ammunition, ammunition components, or fishing tackle under the Toxic Substances Control Act.
- Section 431 - Protecting Hunting, Fishing and Recreational Shooting - A provision to protect recreational activities and access on public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service.
