Please attend an important town meeting on January 7
The Ochoco National Forest has received a request from some Crooked River Ranch homeowners that The Peninsula, a popular recreational area within the Crooked River National Grassland immediately north of the Ranch, be closed to target shooting and that the Forest Service close a road that provides vehicular access to The Peninsula from Crooked River Ranch.
Please see the letter addressed to the Crooked River Ranch residents from Forest Service District Ranger Slater Turner.
The USFS will be hosting a town meeting on January 7th at 6pm in the Juniper Room of the Crooked River Ranch Club to take public comment on the requested closures. The address and contact information for the clubhouse follows:
CROOKED RIVER RANCH CLUB & MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION
5195 SW Clubhouse Rd., Crooked River Ranch, Oregon 97760
Phone: 541-548-8939 or 800-637-5435
Fax: 541-548-0278
If you enjoy target shooting in The Peninsula or you use the access road for other recreational activity, it is important that you make your views known. Public support for the homeowners’ proposals could prompt the Forest Service to propose closure of The Peninsula to target shooting and close off this particular point of access.
If you cannot attend this event on January 7, please e-mail your comments with the title “CRR/The Peninsula comments” in the subject line.
