Contact your state Senator TODAY in opposition to LD 265, 267 and 1173
Tomorrow, the Maine Senate will decide the fate of three misguided anti-gun proposals. We need you to contact your state Senator TODAY in opposition to the following bills:
LD 265 repeals an important self-defense measure enacted in 2011, which prohibits an employer from banning an employee with a valid Permit to Carry Concealed Firearms from keeping a firearm in the employee's vehicle as long as the vehicle is locked and the firearm is not visible.
LD 267 criminalizes private transfers by mandating background investigations for all firearm transfers performed at gun shows.
LD 1173 repeals an important self-defense measure that allows individuals who have obtained a Concealed Handgun Permit to carry a firearm in state parks and historic sites.
Your immediate action is needed to stop this onerous gun control legislation from advancing in the legislative process. Please come to Augusta tomorrow to hold your state lawmakers accountable by asking how they plan to vote on these measures. Floor proceedings begin at 10:00 a.m. and will continue late into the day. If unable, please call AND e-mail your state Senator and urge him or her to vote AGAINST LD 265, LD 267 and LD 1173.
