Yesterday, Idaho Governor Butch Otter (R) signed an important right to carry reform into law. House Bill 192 passed in both chambers of the Idaho Legislature unanimously. This bill was introduced by the House State Affairs Committee and advanced by Senator Chuck Winder (R-20) and state Representative Joe Palmer (R-20). HB 192 will create an enhanced concealed carry license option for those applicants who choose to undergo additional training for more carry benefits, and creates expanded opportunities for reciprocity between Idaho and other states. These improvements will take effect on July 1 of this year.
Thank you to Governor Otter and to the state senators and representatives for their overwhelming support for law-abiding gun owners and to NRA members who contacted their state legislators in support of HB 192.
