Today, the South Dakota House of Representatives voted unanimously to pass an important improvement to the state Right-to-Carry law. Senate Bill 166, introduced by state Senator Larry Rhoden (R-29) and state Representative Gary Cammack (R-29), will extend the validity of the state Permit to Carry a Concealed Pistol from four to five years. SB 166 will now be eligible for Governor Dennis Daugaard’s final approval.
Thank you to bill sponsors Senator Rhoden and Representative Cammack and to the state legislators who voted to expand the Second Amendment rights for residents of South Dakota. Thank you also to NRA members who contacted their legislators in support of this bill. Please e-mail Governor Daugaard and politely encourage him to sign this common sense bill into law.
