As reported, on Thursday, September 20, the Goochland County Planning Commission held a public hearing to discuss an application for a sporting clays range at the Orapax Hunting Preserve.
More than 100 people attended this hearing, and many testified before this commission to voice their support for gun rights. Opponents of the sporting clays range cited noise, decreased quality of life and decreased property values as their major objections despite the fact that the sporting clays range will be positioned on a nearly 700-acre hunting preserve—a mile away from the closest neighbor.
At the conclusion of this meeting, the Goochland County Planning Commission deferred making a decision and requested a noise test be administered on the property.
Please continue to contact the planning commission with your support for the Orapax Sporting Clays Range. Contact information for members of the County Planning Commission can be found here. |
