Yesterday, the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee heard an important self-defense bill that is critical to the citizens of New Hampshire but no action was taken on the bill.
Introduced by state Senator David Boutin (R-16), Senate Bill 88, “castle doctrine,” would remove the duty to retreat and allow law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their home and any place outside of their home. SB 88 passed in the state Senate on March 30 by a 17 to 7 vote.
No further action is needed at this time and the NRA will keep you posted on the status of SB 88.
