As the 2011 Legislative Session comes to a close in
House Bill 2013 unanimously passed in both the Kansas House of Representatives (118 to 0) and the state Senate (38 to 0), and was signed into law by Governor Sam Brownback on March 25. The intent of HB 2013 is to clean up
Governor Brownback also signed Senate Bill 152 into law on March 31. This important self-defense legislation will allow persons licensed to carry a concealed firearm to lawfully carry their firearm while hunting.
SB 152 will also allow any person who lawfully possesses a suppressor to use their suppressor while hunting. SB 152 passed in the state Senate by a 38 to 1 vote on March 9 and passed in the state House unanimously on March 22.
