Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Rep. Betsy Markey for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District this November.
“Betsy Markey will defend the Second Amendment rights of gun owners in Colorado,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF.
Betsy Markey has demonstrated her commitment to our Second Amendment rights by voting for legislation to restore self-defense rights in our nation’s capital, as well as signing the pro-gun congressional amicus brief to the Supreme Court supporting our individual right to keep and bear arms in the historic Heller case.
Markey cosponsored the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity amendment, which would extend federal protection of state right-to-carry licenses and permits across the country, in addition to cosponsoring legislation that would reform the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. She voted to allow carry license or permit holders to carry and transport firearms for self-defense in national parks and wildlife refuges and believes sportsmen should have access to federally owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting.
“Betsy Markey’s support for our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage has earned her an “A” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF.”
Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
